This isn’t the best quality picture we’ve ever seen, but it is still so, so stunning. It looks as though the stars in the sky are reflected in the sea below, somehow even brighter in the reflection than they are in the sky itself.
That’s not what’s actually happening, of course. This is caused by bioluminescent plankton, and it’s a phenomenon you can be lucky enough to spot in many parts of the world if you’re there at the right time. One day we hope to see it for real!
