The angle of the moon as it dips below the horizon, and the way the photographer captured it, make it look as though the moon is sinking into the sea. Or maybe it’s just going for a paddle; or maybe someone’s dunked it in there to give it a wash!
The patches of light and darkness in the foreground add to the strange scale in this picture: is that a small seaside town, or are those just rocks on the beach? Either way, we’d love to go there.
