At first glimpse, it looks as though these children are flinging themselves into a dark and apparently bottomless tunnel through the ground. And they are, in a way – except that the tunnel is full of water, which makes it a little less dangerous.
This is Jacob’s Well, in Texas (not to be confused with the religiously significant Jacob’s Well on the West Bank). It’s a popular spot for swimming, diving, or just dunking your feet to cool off from the heat of a Texas day.
