This picture is sometimes attributed to being a photo of ‘Violin Island, Costa Rica,’ which as far as we know does not exist. The undulating island on the left, the smaller island with the two trees on the right, and the reflection of both in the water below combine to produce something that looks just like a musical instrument.
It’s a beautiful and clever way of using the symmetry of nature to echo the human-made symmetry of the violin.
