It’s always a special moment when the clouds part and light streams down in these visible rays. You can almost hear the chorus of heavenly angels singing the praises of whatever the light is falling on… which in this case is an electrical substation. Or maybe to you it looks more like a UFO is up above the clouds, shining down a laser beam.
The truth, disappointingly, is that neither angels nor aliens are involved: this phenomenon is called ‘crepuscular rays.’ They’re usually caused by the sun setting behind a particular formation of clouds.
